Romans 4	Römer 4
Romans 4:1 What, then, may we say that Abraham, our father after the flesh, has got?	Römer 4:1 Was sagen wir denn von unserm Vater Abraham, daß er gefunden habe nach dem Fleisch?
Romans 4:2 For if Abraham got righteousness by works, he has reason for pride; but not before God.	Römer 4:2 Das sagen wir: Ist Abraham durch die Werke gerecht, so hat er wohl Ruhm, aber nicht vor Gott.
Romans 4:3 But what does it say in the holy Writings? And Abraham had faith in God, and it was put to his account as righteousness.	Römer 4:3 Was sagt denn die Schrift? "Abraham hat Gott geglaubt, und das ist ihm zur Gerechtigkeit gerechnet."
Romans 4:4 Now, the reward is credited to him who does works, not as of grace but as a debt.	Römer 4:4 Dem aber, der mit Werken umgeht, wird der Lohn nicht aus Gnade zugerechnet, sondern aus Pflicht.
Romans 4:5 But to him who without working has faith in him who gives righteousness to the evil-doer, his faith is put to his account as righteousness.	Römer 4:5 Dem aber, der nicht mit Werken umgeht, glaubt aber an den, der die Gottlosen gerecht macht, dem wird sein Glaube gerechnet zur Gerechtigkeit.
Romans 4:6 As David says that there is a blessing on the man to whose account God puts righteousness without works, saying,	Römer 4:6 Nach welcher Weise auch David sagt, daß die Seligkeit sei allein des Menschen, welchem Gott zurechnet die Gerechtigkeit ohne Zutun der Werke, da er spricht:
Romans 4:7 Happy are those who have forgiveness for their wrongdoing, and whose sins are covered.	Römer 4:7 "Selig sind die, welchen ihre Ungerechtigkeiten vergeben sind und welchen ihre Sünden bedeckt sind!
Romans 4:8 Happy is the man against whom no sin is recorded by the Lord.	Römer 4:8 Selig ist der Mann, welchem Gott die Sünde nicht zurechnet!"
Romans 4:9 Is this blessing, then, for the circumcision only, or in the same way for those who have not circumcision? for we say that the faith of Abraham was put to his account as righteousness.	Römer 4:9 Nun diese Seligkeit, geht sie über die Beschnittenen oder auch über die Unbeschnittenen? Wir müssen ja sagen, daß Abraham sei sein Glaube zur Gerechtigkeit gerechnet.
Romans 4:10 How, then, was it judged? when he had circumcision, or when he had it not? Not when he had it, but when he did not have it:	Römer 4:10 Wie ist er ihm denn zugerechnet? Als er beschnitten oder als er unbeschnitten war? Nicht, als er beschnitten, sondern als er unbeschnitten war.
Romans 4:11 And he was given the sign of circumcision as a witness of the faith which he had before he underwent circumcision: so that he might be the father of all those who have faith, though they have not circumcision, and so that righteousness might be put to their account;	Römer 4:11 Das Zeichen der Beschneidung empfing er zum Siegel der Gerechtigkeit des Glaubens, welchen er hatte, als er noch nicht beschnitten war, auf daß er würde ein Vater aller, die da glauben und nicht beschnitten sind, daß ihnen solches auch gerechnet werde zur Gerechtigkeit;
Romans 4:12 And the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who keep to the way of that faith which our father Abraham had before he underwent circumcision.	Römer 4:12 und würde auch ein Vater der Beschneidung, derer, die nicht allein beschnitten sind, sondern auch wandeln in den Fußtapfen des Glaubens, welcher war in unserm Vater Abraham, als er noch unbeschnitten war.
Romans 4:13 For God's word, that the earth would be his heritage, was given to Abraham, not through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.	Römer 4:13 Denn die Verheißung, daß er sollte sein der Welt Erbe, ist nicht geschehen Abraham oder seinem Samen durchs Gesetz, sondern durch die Gerechtigkeit des Glaubens.
Romans 4:14 For if they who are of the law are the people who get the heritage, then faith is made of no use, and the word of God has no power;	Römer 4:14 Denn wo die vom Gesetz Erben sind, so ist der Glaube nichts, und die Verheißung ist abgetan.
Romans 4:15 For the outcome of the law is wrath; but where there is no law it will not be broken.	Römer 4:15 Sintemal das Gesetz nur Zorn anrichtet; denn wo das Gesetz nicht ist, da ist auch keine Übertretung.
Romans 4:16 For this reason it is of faith, so that it may be through grace; and so that the word of God may be certain to all the seed; not only to that which is of the law, but to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,	Römer 4:16 Derhalben muß die Gerechtigkeit durch den Glauben kommen, auf daß sie sei aus Gnaden und die Verheißung fest bleibe allem Samen, nicht dem allein, der unter dem Gesetz ist, sondern auch dem, der des Glaubens Abrahams ist, welcher ist unser aller Vater
Romans 4:17 (As it is said in the holy Writings, I have made you a father of a number of nations) before him in whom he had faith, that is, God, who gives life to the dead, and to whom the things which are not are as if they were.	Römer 4:17 (wie geschrieben steht: "Ich habe dich gesetzt zum Vater vieler Völker") vor Gott, dem er geglaubt hat, der da lebendig macht die Toten und ruft dem, was nicht ist, daß es sei.
Romans 4:18 Who without reason for hope, in faith went on hoping, so that he became the father of a number of nations, as it had been said, So will your seed be.	Römer 4:18 Und er hat geglaubt auf Hoffnung, da nichts zu hoffen war, auf daß er würde ein Vater vieler Völker, wie denn zu ihm gesagt ist: "Also soll dein Same sein."
Romans 4:19 And not being feeble in faith though his body seemed to him little better than dead (he being about a hundred years old) and Sarah was no longer able to have children:	Römer 4:19 Und er ward nicht schwach im Glauben, sah auch nicht an seinem eigenen Leib, welcher schon erstorben war (weil er schon fast hundertjährig war), auch nicht den erstorbenen Leib der Sara;
Romans 4:20 Still, he did not give up faith in the undertaking of God, but was made strong by faith, giving glory to God,	Römer 4:20 denn er zweifelte nicht an der Verheißung Gottes durch Unglauben, sondern ward stark im Glauben und gab Gott die Ehre
Romans 4:21 And being certain that God was able to keep his word.	Römer 4:21 und wußte aufs allergewisseste, daß, was Gott verheißt, das kann er auch tun.
Romans 4:22 For which reason it was put to his account as righteousness.	Römer 4:22 Darum ist's ihm auch zur Gerechtigkeit gerechnet.
Romans 4:23 Now, it was not because of him only that this was said,	Römer 4:23 Das ist aber nicht geschrieben allein um seinetwillen, daß es ihm zugerechnet ist,
Romans 4:24 But for us in addition, to whose account it will be put, if we have faith in him who made Jesus our Lord come back again from the dead,	Römer 4:24 sondern auch um unsertwillen, welchen es zugerechnet werden soll, so wir glauben an den, der unsern HERRN Jesus auferweckt hat von den Toten,
Romans 4:25 Who was put to death for our evil-doing, and came to life again so that we might have righteousness.	Römer 4:25 welcher ist um unsrer Sünden willen dahingegeben und um unsrer Gerechtigkeit willen auferweckt.
