| Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: these are the sons which they had after the great flow of waters | Dies ist das Geschlecht der Kinder Noahs: Sem, Ham, Japheth. Und sie zeugten Kinder nach der Sintflut. |
| The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. | Die Kinder Japheths sind diese: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Thubal, Mesech und Thiras. |
| And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath and Togarmah. | Aber die Kinder von Gomer sind diese: Askenas, Riphath und Thorgama. |
| And the sons of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, the Kittim and the Dodanim. | Die Kinder von Javan sind diese: Elisa, Tharsis, die Chittiter und die Dodaniter. |
| From these came the nations of the sea-lands, with their different families and languages. | Von diesen sind ausgebreitet die Inseln der Heiden in ihren Ländern, jegliche nach ihren Sprachen, Geschlechtern und Leuten. |
| And the sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan. | Die Kinder von Ham sind diese: Chus, Mizraim, Put und Kanaan. |
| And the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. | Aber die Kinder von Chus sind diese: Seba, Hevila, Sabtha, Ragma und Sabthecha. Aber die Kinder von Ragma sind diese: Saba und Dedan. |
| And Cush was the father of Nimrod, who was the first of the great men of the earth. | Chus aber zeugte den Nimrod. Der fing an ein gewaltiger Herr zu sein auf Erden, |
| He was a very great bowman, so that there is a saying, Like Nimrod, a very great bowman. | und war ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem HERRN. Daher spricht man: Das ist ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem HERRN wie Nimrod. |
| And at the first, his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. | Und der Anfang seines Reiches war Babel, Erech, Akkad und Chalne im Lande Sinear. |
| From that land he went out into Assyria, building Nineveh with its wide streets and Calah, | Von dem Land ist er gekommen nach Assur und baute Ninive und Rehoboth-Ir und Kalah, |
| And Resen between Nineveh and Calah, which is a very great town. | dazu Resen zwischen Ninive und Kalah. Dies ist die große Stadt. |

| And Pathrusim and Casluhim and Caphtorim, from whom came the Philistines. | die Pathrusiter und die Kasluhiter und die Kaphthoriter. |
| And Canaan was the father of Zidon, who was his oldest son, and Heth, | Kanaan aber zeugte Sidon, seinen ersten Sohn, und Heth, |
| And the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite, | den Jebusiter, den Amoriter, den Girgasiter, |
| And the Hivite and the Arkite and the Sinite, | den Heviter, den Arkiter, den Siniter, |
| And the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite; after that the families of the Canaanites went far and wide in all directions; | den Arvaditer, den Zemariter und den Hamathiter. Daher sind ausgebreitet die Geschlechter der Kanaaniter. |
| Their country stretching from Zidon to Gaza, in the direction of Gerar; and to Lasha, in the direction of Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim. | Und ihre Grenzen waren von Sidon an durch Gerar bis gen Gaza, bis man kommt gen Sodom, Gomorra, Adama, Zeboim und bis gen Lasa. |
| All these, with their different families, languages, lands, and nations, are the offspring of Ham. | Das sind die Kinder Hams in ihren Geschlechtern, Sprachen und Leuten. |
| And Shem, the older brother of Japheth, the father of the children of Eber, had other sons in addition. | Sem aber, Japheths, des Ältern, Bruder, zeugte auch Kinder, der ein Vater ist aller Kinder von Eber. |
| These are the sons of Shem: Elam and Asshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram. | Und dies sind seine Kinder: Elam, Assur, Arphachsad, Lud und Aram. |
| And the sons of Aram: Uz and Hul and Gether and Mash. | Die Kinder von Aram sind diese: Uz, Hul, Gether und Mas. |
| And Arpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber. | Arphachsad aber zeugte Salah, Salah zeugte Eber. |
| And Eber had two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, because in his time the peoples of the earth became separate; and his brother's name was Joktan. | Eber zeugte zwei Söhne. Einer hieß Peleg, darum daß zu seiner Zeit die Welt zerteilt ward; des Bruder hieß Joktan. |
| And Joktan was the father of Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah | Und Joktan zeugte Almodad, Saleph, Hazarmaveth, Jarah, |
| And Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah | Hadoram, Usal, Dikla, |
| And Obal and Abimael and Sheba | Obal, Abimael, Saba, |
| And Ophir and Havilah and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan. | Ophir, Hevila und Jobab. Das sind die Kinder von Joktan. |
| And their country was from Mesha, in the direction of Sephar, the mountain of the east. | Und ihre Wohnung war von Mesa an, bis man kommt gen Sephar, an den Berg gegen Morgen. |
| These, with their families and their languages and their lands and their nations, are the offspring of Shem. | Das sind die Kinder von Sem in ihren Geschlechtern, Sprachen, Ländern und Leuten. |
| These are the families of the sons of Noah, in the order of their generations and their nations: from these came all the nations of the earth after the great flow of waters. | Das sind die Nachkommen der Kinder Noahs in ihren Geschlechtern und Leuten. Von denen sind ausgebreitet die Leute auf Erden nach der Sintflut. |
