Psaumes 18

Psalms 18:1 ^
To the chief music-maker. Of the servant of the Lord, of David, who said the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord made him free from the hand of all his haters, and from the hand of Saul; and he said,I will give you my love, O Lord, my strength.
Psaumes 18:1 ^
Au chef des chantres. Du serviteur de l`Éternel, de David, qui adressa à l`Éternel les paroles de ce cantique, lorsque l`Éternel l`eut délivré de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül. Il dit: Je t`aime, ô Éternel, ma force!
Psalms 18:2 ^
The Lord is my Rock, my walled town, and my saviour; my God, my Rock, in him will I put my faith; my breastplate, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psaumes 18:2 ^
Éternel, mon rocher, ma forteresse, mon libérateur! Mon Dieu, mon rocher, où je trouve un abri! Mon bouclier, la force qui me sauve, ma haute retraite!
Psalms 18:3 ^
I will send up my cry to the Lord, who is to be praised; so will I be made safe from those who are against me.
Psaumes 18:3 ^
Je m`écrie: Loué soit l`Éternel! Et je suis délivré de mes ennemis.
Psalms 18:4 ^
The cords of death were round me, and the seas of evil put me in fear.
Psaumes 18:4 ^
Les liens de la mort m`avaient environné, Et les torrents de la destruction m`avaient épouvanté;
Psalms 18:5 ^
The cords of hell were round me: the nets of death came on me.
Psaumes 18:5 ^
Les liens du sépulcre m`avaient entouré, Les filets de la mort m`avaient surpris.
Psalms 18:6 ^
In my trouble my voice went up to the Lord, and my cry to my God: my voice came to his hearing in his holy Temple, and my prayer came before him, even into his ears.
Psaumes 18:6 ^
Dans ma détresse, j`ai invoqué l`Éternel, J`ai crié à mon Dieu; De son palais, il a entendu ma voix, Et mon cri est parvenu devant lui à ses oreilles.
Psalms 18:7 ^
Then trouble and shock came on the earth; and the bases of the mountains were moved and shaking, because he was angry.
Psaumes 18:7 ^
La terre fut ébranlée et trembla, Les fondements des montagnes frémirent, Et ils furent ébranlés, parce qu`il était irrité.
Psalms 18:8 ^
There went up a smoke from his nose, and a fire of destruction from his mouth: flames were lighted by it.
Psaumes 18:8 ^
Il s`élevait de la fumée dans ses narines, Et un feu dévorant sortait de sa bouche: Il en jaillissait des charbons embrasés.
Psalms 18:9 ^
The heavens were bent, so that he might come down; and it was dark under his feet.
Psaumes 18:9 ^
Il abaissa les cieux, et il descendit: Il y avait une épaisse nuée sous ses pieds.

And he went in flight through the air, seated on a storm-cloud: going quickly on the wings of the wind.

Il était monté sur un chérubin, et il volait, Il planait sur les ailes du vent.

He made the dark his secret place; his tent round him was the dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
Psaumes 18:11 ^
Il faisait des ténèbres sa retraite, sa tente autour de lui, Il était enveloppé des eaux obscures et de sombres nuages.
Psalms 18:12 ^
Before his shining light his dark clouds went past, raining ice and fire.
Psaumes 18:12 ^
De la splendeur qui le précédait s`échappaient les nuées, Lançant de la grêle et des charbons de feu.
Psalms 18:13 ^
The Lord made thunder in the heavens, and the voice of the Highest was sounding out: a rain of ice and fire.
Psaumes 18:13 ^
L`Éternel tonna dans les cieux, Le Très Haut fit retentir sa voix, Avec la grêle et les charbons de feu.
Psalms 18:14 ^
He sent out his arrows, driving them in all directions; by his flames of fire they were troubled.
Psaumes 18:14 ^
Il lança ses flèches et dispersa mes ennemis, Il multiplia les coups de la foudre et les mit en déroute.
Psalms 18:15 ^
Then the deep beds of the waters were seen, and the bases of the world were uncovered, because of your words of wrath, O Lord, because of the breath from your mouth.
Psaumes 18:15 ^
Le lit des eaux apparut, Les fondements du monde furent découverts, Par ta menace, ô Éternel! Par le bruit du souffle de tes narines.
Psalms 18:16 ^
He sent from on high, he took me, pulling me out of great waters.
Psaumes 18:16 ^
Il étendit sa main d`en haut, il me saisit, Il me retira des grandes eaux;
Psalms 18:17 ^
He made me free from my strong hater, and from those who were against me, because they were stronger than I.
Psaumes 18:17 ^
Il me délivra de mon adversaire puissant, De mes ennemis qui étaient plus forts que moi.
Psalms 18:18 ^
They came on me in the day of my trouble; but the Lord was my support.
Psaumes 18:18 ^
Ils m`avaient surpris au jour de ma détresse; Mais l`Éternel fut mon appui.
Psalms 18:19 ^
He took me out into a wide place; he was my saviour because he had delight in me.
Psaumes 18:19 ^
Il m`a mis au large, Il m`a sauvé, parce qu`il m`aime.
Psalms 18:20 ^
The Lord gives me the reward of my righteousness, because my hands are clean before him.
Psaumes 18:20 ^
L`Éternel m`a traité selon ma droiture, Il m`a rendu selon la pureté de mes mains;
Psalms 18:21 ^
For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have not been turned away in sin from my God.
Psaumes 18:21 ^
Car j`ai observé les voies de l`Éternel, Et je n`ai point été coupable envers mon Dieu.
Psalms 18:22 ^
For all his decisions were before me, and I did not put away his laws from me.
Psaumes 18:22 ^
Toutes ses ordonnances ont été devant moi, Et je ne me suis point écarté de ses lois.
Psalms 18:23 ^
And I was upright before him, and I kept myself from sin.
Psaumes 18:23 ^
J`ai été sans reproche envers lui, Et je me suis tenu en garde contre mon iniquité.
Psalms 18:24 ^
Because of this the Lord has given me the reward of my righteousness, because my hands are clean in his eyes.
Psaumes 18:24 ^
Aussi l`Éternel m`a rendu selon ma droiture, Selon la pureté de mes mains devant ses yeux.
Psalms 18:25 ^
On him who has mercy you will have mercy; to the upright you will be upright;
Psaumes 18:25 ^
Avec celui qui est bon tu te montres bon, Avec l`homme droit tu agis selon la droiture,
Psalms 18:26 ^
He who is holy will see that you are holy; but to the man whose way is not straight you will be a hard judge.
Psaumes 18:26 ^
Avec celui qui est pur tu te montres pur, Et avec le pervers tu agis selon sa perversité.
Psalms 18:27 ^
For you are the saviour of those who are in trouble; but eyes full of pride will be made low.
Psaumes 18:27 ^
Tu sauves le peuple qui s`humilie, Et tu abaisses les regards hautains.
Psalms 18:28 ^
You, O Lord, will be my light; by you, my God, the dark will be made bright for me.
Psaumes 18:28 ^
Oui, tu fais briller ma lumière; L`Éternel, mon Dieu, éclaire mes ténèbres.
Psalms 18:29 ^
By your help I have made a way through the wall which was shutting me in; by the help of my God I have gone over a wall.
Psaumes 18:29 ^
Avec toi je me précipite sur une troupe en armes, Avec mon Dieu je franchis une muraille.
Psalms 18:30 ^
As for God, his way is completely good; the word of the Lord is tested; he is a breastplate for all those who put their faith in him.
Psaumes 18:30 ^
Les voies de Dieu sont parfaites, La parole de l`Éternel est éprouvée; Il est un bouclier pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui.
Psalms 18:31 ^
For who is God but the Lord? or who is a Rock but our God?
Psaumes 18:31 ^
Car qui est Dieu, si ce n`est l`Éternel; Et qui est un rocher, si ce n`est notre Dieu?
Psalms 18:32 ^
God puts a strong band about me, guiding me in a straight way.
Psaumes 18:32 ^
C`est Dieu qui me ceint de force, Et qui me conduit dans la voie droite.
Psalms 18:33 ^
He makes my feet like roes' feet, and puts me on high places.
Psaumes 18:33 ^
Il rend mes pieds semblables à ceux des biches, Et il me place sur mes lieux élevés.
Psalms 18:34 ^
He makes my hands expert in war, so that a bow of brass is bent by my arms.
Psaumes 18:34 ^
Il exerce mes mains au combat, Et mes bras tendent l`arc d`airain.
Psalms 18:35 ^
You have given me the breastplate of your salvation: your right hand has been my support, and your mercy has made me great.
Psaumes 18:35 ^
Tu me donnes le bouclier de ton salut, Ta droite me soutient, Et je deviens grand par ta bonté.
Psalms 18:36 ^
You have made my steps wide under me, so that my feet are kept from slipping.
Psaumes 18:36 ^
Tu élargis le chemin sous mes pas, Et mes pieds ne chancellent point.
Psalms 18:37 ^
I go after my haters and overtake them; not turning back till they are all overcome.
Psaumes 18:37 ^
Je poursuis mes ennemis, je les atteins, Et je ne reviens pas avant de les avoir anéantis.
Psalms 18:38 ^
I will give them wounds, so that they are not able to get up: they are stretched under my feet.
Psaumes 18:38 ^
Je les brise, et ils ne peuvent se relever; Ils tombent sous mes pieds.
Psalms 18:39 ^
For I have been armed by you with strength for the fight: you have made low under me those who come out against me.
Psaumes 18:39 ^
Tu me ceins de force pour le combat, Tu fais plier sous moi mes adversaires.
Psalms 18:40 ^
By you their backs are turned in flight, so that my haters are cut off.
Psaumes 18:40 ^
Tu fais tourner le dos à mes ennemis devant moi, Et j`extermine ceux qui me haïssent.
Psalms 18:41 ^
They were crying out, but there was no one to come to their help: even to the Lord, but he gave them no answer.
Psaumes 18:41 ^
Ils crient, et personne pour les sauver! Ils crient à l`Éternel, et il ne leur répond pas!
Psalms 18:42 ^
Then they were crushed as small as dust before the wind; they were drained out like the waste of the streets.
Psaumes 18:42 ^
Je les broie comme la poussière qu`emporte le vent, Je les foule comme la boue des rues.
Psalms 18:43 ^
You have made me free from the fightings of the people; you have made me the head of the nations: a people of whom I had no knowledge will be my servants.
Psaumes 18:43 ^
Tu me délivres des dissensions du peuple; Tu me mets à la tête des nations; Un peuple que je ne connaissais pas m`est asservi.
Psalms 18:44 ^
From the time when my name comes to their ears they will be ruled by me: men of other countries will, with false hearts, put themselves under my authority.
Psaumes 18:44 ^
Ils m`obéissent au premier ordre, Les fils de l`étranger me flattent;
Psalms 18:45 ^
They will be wasting away, they will come out of their secret places shaking with fear.
Psaumes 18:45 ^
Les fils de l`étranger sont en défaillance, Ils tremblent hors de leurs forteresses.
Psalms 18:46 ^
The Lord is living; praise be to my Rock, and let the God of my salvation be honoured.
Psaumes 18:46 ^
Vive l`Éternel, et béni soit mon rocher! Que le Dieu de mon salut soit exalté,
Psalms 18:47 ^
It is God who sends punishment on my haters, and puts peoples under my rule.
Psaumes 18:47 ^
Le Dieu qui est mon vengeur, Qui m`assujettit les peuples,
Psalms 18:48 ^
He makes me free from my haters; I am lifted up over those who come up against me: you have made me free from the violent man.
Psaumes 18:48 ^
Qui me délivre de mes ennemis! Tu m`élèves au-dessus de mes adversaires, Tu me sauves de l`homme violent.
Psalms 18:49 ^
Because of this I will give you praise, O Lord, among the nations, and will make a song of praise to your name.
Psaumes 18:49 ^
C`est pourquoi je te louerai parmi les nations, ô Éternel! Et je chanterai à la gloire de ton nom.
Psalms 18:50 ^
Great salvation does he give to his king; he has mercy on the king of his selection, David, and on his seed for ever.
Psaumes 18:50 ^
Il accorde de grandes délivrances à son roi, Et il fait miséricorde à son oint, A David, et à sa postérité, pour toujours.
