Psalmen 140:1 Errette mich, HERR, von den bösen Menschen; behüte mich vor den freveln Leute,	Psalms 140:1 To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David.O Lord, take me out of the power of the evil man; keep me safe from the violent man:
Psalmen 140:2 die Böses gedenken in ihrem Herzen und täglich Krieg erregen.	Psalms 140:2 For their hearts are full of evil designs; and they are ever making ready causes of war.
Psalmen 140:3 Sie schärfen ihre Zunge wie eine Schlange; Otterngift ist unter ihren Lippen.	Psalms 140:3 Their tongues are sharp like the tongue of a snake; the poison of snakes is under their lips. (Selah.)
Psalmen 140:4 Bewahre mich, HERR, vor der Hand der Gottlosen; behüte mich vor den freveln Leuten, die meinen Gang gedenken umzustoßen.	Psalms 140:4 O Lord, take me out of the hands of sinners; keep me safe from the violent man: for they are designing my downfall.
Psalmen 140:5 Die Hoffärtigen legen mir Stricke und breiten mir Seile aus zum Netz und stellen mir Fallen an den Weg.	Psalms 140:5 The men of pride have put secret cords for my feet; stretching nets in my way, so that they may take me with their tricks. (Selah.)
Psalmen 140:6 Ich aber sage zum HERRN: Du bist mein Gott; HERR, vernimm die Stimme meines Flehens!	Psalms 140:6 I have said to the Lord, You are my God: give ear, O Lord, to the voice of my prayer.
Psalmen 140:7 HERR HERR, meine starke Hilfe, du beschirmst mein Haupt zur Zeit des Streites.	Psalms 140:7 O Lord God, the strength of my salvation, you have been a cover over my head in the day of the fight.
Psalmen 140:8 HERR, laß dem Gottlosen seine Begierde nicht; stärke seinen Mutwillen nicht: sie möchten sich des überheben.	Psalms 140:8 O Lord, give not the wrongdoer his desire; give him no help in his evil designs, or he may be uplifted in pride. (Selah.)
Psalmen 140:9 Das Unglück, davon meine Feinde ratschlagen, müsse auf ihren Kopf fallen.	Psalms 140:9 As for those who come round me, let their heads be covered by the evil of their lips.
Psalmen 140:10 Er wird Strahlen über sie schütten; er wird sie mit Feuer tief in die Erde schlagen, daß sie nicht mehr aufstehen.	Psalms 140:10 Let burning flames come down on them: let them be put into the fire, and into deep waters, so that they may not get up again.
Psalmen 140:11 Ein böses Maul wird kein Glück haben auf Erden; ein frevler, böser Mensch wird verjagt und gestürzt werden.	Psalms 140:11 Let not a man of evil tongue be safe on earth: let destruction overtake the violent man with blow on blow.
Psalmen 140:12 Denn ich weiß, daß der HERR wird des Elenden Sache und der Armen Recht ausführen.	Psalms 140:12 I am certain that the Lord will take care of the cause of the poor, and of the rights of those who are troubled.
Psalmen 140:13 Auch werden die Gerechten deinem Namen danken, und die Frommen werden vor deinem Angesicht bleiben.	Psalms 140:13 Truly, the upright will give praise to your name: the holy will have a place in your house.
